Lady and Sons

Tonight I got to meet a famous person! Paula Deen from Lady and Sons (from the restaurant in Savannah and the cookbooks.) Lady and Sons She is also in a movie called Elizabethtown coming out later this year with Orlando Bloom, Kirsten Dunst, Susan Sarandon, Judy Greer, Jessica Biel, Alec Baldwin, Jed Rees, Emily Rutherfurd, Bruce McGill, Allison Munn.

Anyway, my mom and sister belong to this Army wife Support group thingy and they were having a dinner at Lady and Sons so they got me a ticket. The food was amazing, and while everyone is eating out walks Paula and her husband (I think his name is Michael) and she thanks all the army wives for all they do and then answers questions that people have. She was VERY funny! I've seen her show on the food network before and as likeable as she is on it she is EVEN NICER IN PERSON.

She said she couldn't stay as long as she wanted because she had a 4:00AM flight (she is on a book tour I think) and still had to go to walmart to get an undershirt to wear. How down to earth is that!

She also shared secrets about her cooking show, it really isn't filmed in her house (it is her producers house in NY! and those really aren't her dogs, they are his!) but this next season they will film in her house in Savannah (she has to build a camera friendly kitchen first). Also she is shooting a new pilot in June for a new show with an audience. anyway I was just tickled pink to meet her! She even stayed to take pictures with everyone who wanted to (there were 100 people there).
