The Magnificent Seven
Birthday Montage
Saturday afternoon I went to our nephew Steven's birthday party. (Steven is Curt's youngest sister Sam's son). The only other kids there were his two cousins Kaliegh (3) and her brother Hunter (1 in August), (they are Curt's other sister Angela's kids). Curt wasn't there because he had already promised someone to help them move some stuff so I wasn't looking forward to going without him. I figured I would suck it up since I'd had Steven's birthday present since January (it was a wireless remote control Submarine that really worked in the water, and a dinosaur made out of wood that you put together). Looking back at the pictures I took I realized how glad I was that I ended up going and what a neat kid Steven is turning out to be.
1. Steven opens his presents unaware that Kaliegh is "helping him" while Hunter crawls around in the background.
2. Angela realizes that Kaliegh has been "helping Steven" and she explains to Kaliegh that it is Steven's birthday and he gets to open his presents. She tried to reassure Kaliegh that she will get to help play with the toys after they are opened, but Kaliegh is NOT happy about this at all.
3. Being the mature almost 7 (his real birthday is Tuesday) that he is, he offers for Kaliegh to lend her wrapping paper ripping skills to him. They both "oooh" and "ahhh" over the spider man set that Kaliegh uncovers
4. Steven even lets Kaliegh test out his spidey outfit first
5. Seeing how cool the gloves and mask are Kaliegh quickly takes them off and tells Steven he has to play with them and helps him put his gloves on.
Lucas is going to have 6 cousins to play with and teach him how to share. The coolest thing is that they all live in the same city as he does.
In other news... Curt FINALLY felt Lucas kick tonight and he happily rolled over and fell asleep... and since Lucas still hasn't stopped kicking I am posting in my blog at 3 in the morning.
