Overpriced Baby Swim Wear

For my little water baby... Posted by Hello

So today I just needed to get out of the house and do something. The first mission of the day was to track down Ocean Waves Sea Spray, one of favorite hair products. It smells like the beach and since my hair is naturally curly it keeps it conditioned and from frizzing up. I use it when I don't feel like straightening my hair. It used to be really easy to find but since I ran out last week I couldn't find it anywhere. I looked at Walmart, Food Lion, CVS, and finally found it at Walgreens. I was about to break down and order a case of it off of eBay. The second I bought it I ran to the car and sprayed it on my hair.

Next I headed over to my parents house. I thought I would drop by and say hi to my Mom and my Grandma (who is staying there this week) but they weren't there. So instead I headed to the mall to buy a few bras because my breasts are no longer my own and they don't seem to want to fit in any of my own bras. I know they will probably change again but I can't go 6 weeks until the baby is born feeling "unsupported." I picked up 4 bras (I love buy two get two free plus 15% off) I ended up getting $100 worth of bras for less than $44.00. I also picked up a comfy t-shirt nightshirt to pack in my overnight bag for when I am in labor and a couple cute bracelets to wear while I breastfeed. (I heard it is a good idea to come up with a way to help remember which side you left off breastfeeding when its three o'clock in the morning and you can't even remember your own name). Some people use a safety pin on their bra, or switch their wedding ring to each hand... I thought it would be easy to just switch a stretchy bracelet.

In the name of exercise I decided to walk through the whole mall and for the first time I realized that I had a reason to go into the overpriced kid clothing stores. As I walked into Gymboree I proudly stuck my big pregnant belly out. I wasn't planning on buying anything until I saw the cutest little baby bathing suit and what is a cute bathing suit without a matching sun hat? Hey at least it was on sale... I could have bought the matching tee shirt but I resisted, besides who cares if Lucas wears a white walmart tee with his name brand trunks. I also went into Gap Kids but didn't buy anything just looked.

As I waddled back to the car I realized how hot it was and decided to stop at Kroger on my way home to pick up some ice cream. Sweating to death I started to compose the stories I would tell Lucas one day about how he should appreciate what I went through to bring him into this world. I'm sure after I go through the whole labor thing my story will only improve. I decided to go with the Kroger brand mini ice cream sandwiches and I headed home.

Speaking of labor the more childbirth classes I go to I am leaning more towards giving birth at the birth center instead of the hospital, which means I give up the epidural (but honestly that HUGE needle scares me). The birth center seems to be more laid back, and I go always go for a hydrobirth, which I know would freak out Curt's family. Hey the baby spends 9 months swimming around in there, why not be born in the water. Hmm... I guess the baby swim suit picture is appropriate for this post in more ways then one!
