8 Days until D-Day

Today I had a checkup and everything is normal and nothing new to report. I am 38 weeks and 6 Days. Next week my next appointment is the day before I am due and if I want them to they will do an exam and see if my cervix is dilated at all. I guess I really have to go through the whole labor thing after all! Right now it just seems like I will be pregnant forever!

So while everything is still going well I have been grounded. This weekend is my family reunion (on my mom's side) that goes on every second weekend in July, this year it is in St. Simons Island. We were planning on going at least for Saturday for the big meal but when I asked for the go ahead today I was told that I couldn't go. It is too far away and I am too close to my due date. Now that I think about it if I was to go, Murphy's Law would mean that I would go in labor and I can just picture me and Curt driving back to Savannah freaking out. Since we are staying though I know nothing exciting this weekend will happen. It is probably a good thing I can't go because I am cranky and get easily annoyed. I just hate being told that I can't do something.

I wasn't the only one who got a checkup today. We thought Curt might have a bladder infection so we drove into town to go to Immediate Med. On the way since we knew he would probably have to pee for a urine test we decided to stop by Olive Garden for dinner. Since it was barely 5:00 there was hardly anyone there, otherwise we wouldn't have gone there because one of Curt's biggest pet peeves is having to wait for a table. He would rather go grab fast food then wait ANYWHERE for a table. Dinner was nice then when we headed to the Doctor we had to turn around and go all the way back because they wouldn't see him without a picture ID, which he had left at home (since he felt so crappy I drove).

When we finally got back there he went right in but his urine test came back negative, they think he might have passed a kidney stone. They gave him a steroid shot in his hip because of his back pain (which we thought was caused by a bladder infection) and he was the BIGGEST baby. He had me and the nurse laughing!

Well tomorrow our living room furniture comes and I couldn't be happier! Our range and dishwasher arrived yesterday but they are still not hooked up. Neither is the larger AC unit that was a baby shower gift from Curt's mom and Grandparents. All have to be hooked up by more experienced electrical people then us.
