So I spent over an hour talking to MSN technical support. I had to talk to two different people who at first told me there wasn't a problem to finally be told... yeah there is an outage but we can't do anything about it... the whole reason we have MSN is for their email. It isn't because they are wonderful either. It is just we've had the same email addresses for years.
I use that address for ebay and to pay the bills and everything and when we got Comcast cable internet it was just too much of a hassle to switch everything over. Plus for a year we got to keep basic MSN for free (which ended in Oct) so for the last two months we have been paying $9.95 a month for an email address where we might get our email. That is great!!! Here is a highlight from the end of my chat with tech support: (which he couldn't spell my name right even though it was all over the screen and I had already told them a bizillion times that I wasn't getting my email through MSN or the Hotmail website. )
Kari Hunter}the whole reason we have msn is for email... because we've had the same email address for years
{Jorge}The issue is being narrowed down to Comcast users with MSN. It doesn't happen to other Highspeed customers.
{Kari Hunter}so basically if i want my email don't use msn?
{Kari Hunter}use my comcast address
{Jorge}No. By the way, have you tried checking your Email on hotmail.com?
{Kari Hunter}yes same problem
{Kari Hunter}i am not getting my emails
{Jorge}I'm sorry Keri but there isn't much that I could do for now. It's a problem with the service right now and we don't have a fix for it yet. Thank you for contacting MSN Technical Support and don't hesitate to contact us again if you need to. Goodbye.
Also as Lisa pointed out this same thing happened in Oct. So I don't want to chance it happening again. Who wants to have their emails poof into space never knowing they existed?
I'll email everyone my real new email address because I'm not posting it here. I don' want email from the goatboy, pepsi, and Bill Gates.
