Sometimes we actually get the food in his mouth
Yum Carrots (Wow he really has his Dad's chin)
Today I realized from here on out (at least for a while) feeding Lucas is going to take quite a while. Ever since he realized he could feed himself Cheerios he wants to feed himself all the time which just isn't possible yet. I do however think Lucas is ready for more "finger foods" so he can feed himself more things besides his favorite circle shaped cereal. The days of him waiting for his next bite with an open mouth are over. Now as soon as the spoon heads to his mouth we have to dodge his hands grabbing for the spoon so that food doesn't go flying everywhere and actually makes it in his mouth.
Instead of getting frustrated today when it was taking FOREVER to feed him, (like I might normally when I am trying to get other things done) I just enjoyed it. I laughed at how cute he was with carrots on his nose and enjoyed how his eyes lit up when he tasted grapes for the first time in his mesh feeder. I know I need to enjoy these days when he enjoys his fruits and veggies and wants to take forever sitting and eating. I'm sure the days of him being a toddler and doing something like refusing to eat anything but orange foods are coming.

aww.. that's cute! I just started to feel rice cereal to Asher. He tries to grab the spoon too. But it's the only way he'll keep the food in his mouth so I just let him hold it while i hold it. some sort of collaborative feeding effort.
But wow, looks like i have more stuff to look forward to. It's good I get to "see" you experience them first so I can get an idea of what to expect. kind of.
:o)
Ben wants to grab too, but I am still able to dodge unless I catch him in a hand waving frenzy them it DOES go flying. Now Ean WANTS to be fed again. He gets more attention that way so he is reverting, that is if I even can get him to sit and eat.
