Tonight instead of doing things I should have been doing (laundry, dishes, cleaning the bathroom) I decided that I needed a new profile picture. I started goofing off with the camera and snapping self portraits. Of course I forgot about the fact that Jadie has to be part of whatever is going on.

Today Lucas had occupational therapy and his therapist was pleasantly surprised when he started doing all the things she had planned on working on with him during the next week. She looked at me and said "WOW! I can tell you guys have been working on this at home!" If you by "working on this at home" you mean just letting him crawl and explore and play like he wants then yes! I have a feeling she meant doing the exercises on the sheet she gave me that are still in his diaper bag.
Okay, it isn't that I don't want to cooperate but half the stuff that they've been trying to get Lucas to do he does at home by himself before he even started therapy... he just wouldn't do it for them. I'm just more of the mindset of when he is ready to do certain things he will. I don't think he will be going off to college still doing the army crawl. Also, I do incorporate some of the suggestions they give us like show him how to point when he pushes buttons instead of using his whole hand to press something.

I think you're doing a fantabulous job, and I think you're right about the "when he's ready he's ready" thing. I think people get too caught up on "what is he doing compared to others his age?" thing and forget that EVERY CHILD IS DIFFERENT.
But come on - it WOULD be funny if he army-crawled down the aisle tp accept his diploma ;)
That is a neat, new profile pic. Wonder what was going through Jadie's head when you took it, smile
