We just got back from Lucas' neurologist appointment. Curt was actually able to go with us... which was a nice surprise because for some reason he ended up getting off work at 12:30!!!
Basically they just watched him play, crawl, and stand. The only real "concerns" they have is with him standing he doesn't want to/try to move his feet to take a step... and when he crawls (he still doesn't the army crawl) he pushed off with his right leg and never uses his left.
We were told that the next step would be to sedate him and have an MRI and we could either do it today or wait and come back in 3 months and see if it is even needed. He is already scheduled to start Physical Therapy & Occupational Therapy next week... so the neurologist thinks that therapy might help. Also, if they did find something that was "wrong" that it wouldn't be something they could correct right away or if at all.
I was very glad that Curt was there to help me decide what to do. We decided to wait. We figured there is no reason to sedate him and expose him to an MRI if he doesn't need it. We were also told that they don't think his slow weight gain and his movement are linked at all.
So in one way we still don't have an answer but that is ok. Hopefully PT will help him so he won't have to go through the sedation and all the tests that go along with it!
No matter what I have a happy little guy and I wouldn't change one little thing about my sweet little baby boy.
(Oh, and since Lucas is napping now and I can't post any new pictures of him if you need a photo fix I added new pictures to my Flickr account)

OOOH! NEW PICTURES! I am so going to check that out momentarily :D
I'm glad to hear they don't think the MRI is a necessity and are willing to wait a few months. I'm sure he'll 'catch up' to where they want him to be, he's such a bright, sweet little baby! I'm sure he's just busy taking his own time about things.
And, for the record, my husband almost ALWAYS steps away from a standing position (like, to start walking) with his right foot first - and he's (well, mostly) perfectly normal :D
I am glad Curt got to go with you, thanks for the update.
