Today was Preschool Friday and Lucas learned about the letter C, the number 3, the color blue, and triangles. Afterwards a few of us went to Forsyth Park to let the kids play. We didn't realize that today was the greening of the fountain. There was an insane amount of people at the park for it being lunch time on Friday.
We didn't see them actually turn the fountain green but we did go take a look once the crowd had dispensed. While I was taking pictures of Lucas looking at the fountain, a very nice man (possibly homeless but dressed a tiny bit nicer) asked if he could take a picture of me and Lucas standing in front of the fountain. For half a second I thought "what if this man runs off with my camera" but then I knew if I turned down his polite offer he would know just what I had been thinking. He took the picture and gave the camera right back. I thanked him and felt bad for doubting his intentions and it is nice to have a picture of myself and Lucas that I didn't take. Usually I am the one behind the camera.
I am starting to lose count of the times Lucas and I have been to Forsyth in the last few weeks. The weather has just been about perfect and the park is so _________ (fill in the blank yourself since none of the adjectives I am thinking of now fit what I am trying to say.) Plus the park has so much history for me. It is one of the places Curt and I went on our very first date. I never imagined way back when that I would be bringing our son to run around the same fountain where all that first date magic happened.
I also didn't bring the stroller with me this time (on purpose) so Lucas could walk, run, and stop and explore (and make new dog friends) on the way to and from the car.
