Thankful

After church we came home and had lunch and decided to go get a few flowers to plant because it is Earth Day and because I thought Lucas would enjoy watering them. When we went to leave the road we live on was blocked and nobody could go in or out for a few hours. There were police cars and fire trucks EVERYWHERE and at first I didn't know what was going on and was a little annoyed that we couldn't leave. (I also needed to go to the store to get food for dinner.) When I turned the car around to head back home I saw the reason for the blockade... a neighbors home had burned down.

We ended up eating Lima beans and Macaroni (the only things we really had in the cupboards) but I was just thankful we had a home to eat them in. I don't know the neighbors that lost their home but I'm pretty sure they had children because they had several outside toys in their yard. We have so much to be thankful for.
