Today while we were at the mall Lucas decided he wanted to try going potty for the very first time. We were about to leave one of the family bathrooms (they are large rooms that you can lock and have a regular size toilet and a mini toilet in them) when Lucas asked if he could go potty. He has never asked to go potty before and so we've never even sat him on a potty before. If he wants to take the initiative I am all for it.
I got him out of his stroller and explained that we had to pull his shorts and his diaper down before he could sit down. Once he was sitting on the potty he had the biggest smile on his face. I got tired of waiting for him to go so I told him "all done" and helped him get down and pull his pants back up. Before climbing back into his stroller he looked in the toilet to see if there were any surprises (there weren't) and he clapped. I don't know where we are going to go from here since we don't even have a potty yet. We're just going to take our cues from him.
