Lucas' cough was gone when he woke up this morning but was replaced with a runny nose and a whole lot of WHINE! Normally I don't mind when Lucas is sick because he is quiet and just wants to be held and have his back rubbed and his hair stroked. Today all he wanted to do was WWWWWHHHHIIIIINNNNE! The only thing keeping me from wanting to throw him out the window was counting down the hours until nap time.
When nap time came I tucked Lucas is with a little bit of resistance so I was hopeful that we would go right to sleep but he never did! The only thing that ended up saving my sanity was Curt showing up with the mail that included a new VeggieTale DVD. Lucas happily laid on the couch and watched Bob while I was able to wash the dishes in peace. He did eventually end up taking a short nap around 4PM. He hasn't really had much of an appetite today but he has been drinking water like crazy. I don't know if it is a good sign or not.
Tomorrow is storytime at the library but I think we are going to skip it. Even if Lucas wakes up in a good mood I would hate to spread the germs. If the weather is nice I might take him to the park just so he can get a bit of fresh air.
