When Lucas got tired of the basic bedtime routine he started to add in crying baby sound effects. He was enjoying making the sounds so much it got to the point I found myself saying "Lucas can you PLEASE make baby Jesus be quiet. He is really starting to annoy me!" This of course only encouraged him to keep on making fake crying sounds and I found myself saying "Does baby Jesus need a time out?"

More Things I Never Had to Say Before Becoming a Mom
On Lucas' very first Christmas a friend of my Mom's gave Lucas a doll. We've never been the type of parents that freak out if Lucas wants to play princess dress up at friend's house or bat an eyelash if Lucas wants to carry around a doll (even if it is pink and peach scented.) Well, tonight Lucas brings me his doll (which he has evidently named "baby Jesus") and asks me to get a blanket and help him wrap up his baby. He spent the rest of the afternoon and evening getting his baby ready for bed. He would read him a story, say "Prayers, Amen," give the baby kisses and then throw a blanket over the baby and then tell us to "SHHH!"
