Curt had his orthopedic referral yesterday and we were both relieved to hear that he does not need surgery. It isn't his vertebrae that are causing the pain after all. He actually has a pretty nasty
pulled muscle in his lower back. The Orthopedic Doctor wants him to do more physical therapy, take an inflammatory medicine, and come back in 4 weeks. He will not be released for work until then. Yes, that means that we are going to be together pretty much 24/7 for another month. Maybe I should stop praying for God to make me more
patient because he keeps giving me all these new opportunities to work on patience. :-)

The Doc also told him that if he wants to avoid any further back injuries he needs to continue with the exercises from physical therapy to strengthen his core for the rest of his life. We are going to borrow my parents treadmill for a few weeks so he can do some walking inside without having to be embarrassed about walking lopsided outside in front of people (he is still leaning to one side when he tries to stand up straight.) In one way I think this is all a blessing in disguise. We both need to get in better shape and I think this might be the push we both need.

What wonderful news! I'm glad to hear that Curt won't have to undergo surgery.
I once told my step-mother that I pray for patience and she told me not to because if I did, then God would send me obstacles. I believe that we would have obstacles anyway, but I've since stopped praying for patience! :)
That is great news. I am glad for you guys.
I'm a little late in saying so, but this is really wonderful news!
