Poker Face

Sometimes it is very hard to keep a straight face at some of the things that come out of Lucas' mouth. Today was a particularly hard day for keeping a poker face.

We think he is teething because he is running a fever, chewing on his toys, and been really sleepy (all things that happen when he is getting teeth in.) When I asked him how he is was feeling he told me he wasn't feeling good and said really pathetically, "Mommy I have germs!" After a dose of Tylenol he was feeling better and said "I'm all better! I don't have germs anymore!"

When he got up from his second nap for the day he very enthusiastically wanted to play Go Fish. Curt played with him until dinner was ready. When Curt tried to get up to go eat dinner Lucas held on to his leg and told him "You are not hungry Daddy! No go eat breakfast!"

When we sat down to eat Lucas (who wasn't hungry because he had just eaten a big bowl of chicken noodle soup) kept running up to the table and screaming "STOP EATING!" and "NO DON'T EAT THAT!" He finally gave up and realized that we were going to eat and went to set up his gold fish cards so that he could be ready to play ASAP.

Later in the evening Lucas ran up to me and said "Mommy, you are like a witch." The way he said it I think he meant it as a compliment. Usually he says things like "Mommy I'm a pirate and you are a princess!" I am still trying to figure out where he got the whole witch thing.
