I'm almost Normal!
Stamps on the card Brandi sent
Today was a pretty good day! Jadie and I headed over to my parents house this morning and I went swimming for the first time this year. It felt really good to get to swim laps. Then I came home and checked the mail and got the sweetest card from Brandi. I love the fact that she used all sorts of stamps instead of the plane Jane flag stamp. She is just the coolest person. I'm so glad for our get togethers every few weeks because I know she has kept me sane through this pregnancy and she understands my obession with eBay. I also got a pair of Old Navy Maternity Capris in the mail that I won off of eBay a few days ago and when I checked the pockets I found $4.00!
For dinner we had rotisserie pork chops (i love the rotisserie oven my Dad got for Curt a few years ago we use it all the time), home made mashed potatoes, and fresh boiled broccoli. I can still eat the same foods as I liked before they just have to be fresh and made from scratch. Tomorrow I think we will have Sloppy Joes (on 100% whole grain wheat bread of course)
The whole diet thing really is working, two weeks ago (and for the last few months) my blood pressure was 136/68 and today it was 120/70!!! The top number is the most important one. Normal blood pressure is less than 120 over less than 80! I'm really excited that I am almost normal. I can't believe how much two weeks has made (and I haven't been overly strict about my diet!)
Every day I enjoy cooking from scatch a little more... of course I still have little treats everyone now and then of yummy foods like Chocolate Lucky Charms, or CiCi's Pizza. The difference now though is when I get the munchies I open the fridge and grab a banana or a handful of grapes, or apple slices dipped in PB instead of chips or a frozen pizza, or anything on white bread.
