I'm a hypocrite
My pierced tongue of almost 4 years.
So my sister calls me today and tells me she got her belly button pierced and I am mentally rolling my eyes because I think it is stupid. I don't say anything about it though because I don't want to ruin her day, because I am sure she is excited about her new addition to her body. Besides if I had a flat belly I'd be the first one in line to stick over priced jewelry in my navel...
Hi my name is Kari and I am a piercing hypocrite.
I have had my tongue pierced for four years as of August 17. (I only know the exact day because I got it done a week after I got married).
I think my whole problem with HER belly button being punctured is just the fact that she is my baby sister. (My first question of course was "Do Mom and Dad know?") That has to be some of it. It's not like she is 16 and doing it because all her friends were doing it. She is 20 years old and married. Also I guess when I think of belly button rings I associate them with skanky girls that wear low rise short shorts with their thongs peeking out and belly shirts to get attention (Which my sister is not).
Maybe it's the whole "I'm about to be a mom thing" because everyone I know who has had it done ended up with a red oozing belly button because it got infected. The more I think about it I am glad that I am having a boy after all.
So Lori if you are reading this congratulations on your new addition... and I hope I didn't ruin it!
