I'm not making it up I swear

The boy who would not sleep Posted by Picasa

According to his doctor Lucas doesn't have thrush. His only suggestion was that either my milk came out to fast and was choking him, or too slow and he was getting impatient.... this doesn't explain how after nursing for 5 weeks with no problem he wouldn't latch on (so neither problem is possible) and his little mouth HURT him! (At least he didn't make me feel stupid like yesterday and he really was listening to me).

After my appointment I went to my mom's house (and stayed there until 7 pm)and she called the lactation consultant that I had seen in the hospital. She agreed that none of the solutions were it. (The funny thing is that as soon as my mom dialed the number Lucas latched on) She also said that there had been something wrong and thrush was a HUGE likelihood that eating yogurt like I had been doing was probably helping.

So thanks to the support of the nursing Nazi Lucas appears to be nursing like his old self... times ten. I guess he is making up for not being able to nurse the last few days because he's nursed for over an hour each time he wants to eat, and accept for little cat naps here and there he won't sleep. All he wants to do is eat. I had to take a break to take some tylenol because between him and all the pumping the last day and a half my nipples are ready to run away and find a new home!

At least my baby is feeling better. He was back to cooing and laughing after his first marathon session.

I am really glad that he is feeling better and maybe he was just upset at something.
