At his last appointment Lucas' Dr suggest I give him a cup to get him ready to use a sippy cup on his own. Well, last week I tried the whole cup thing a few times and it just made Lucas choke no matter how much or how little was in the cup. I decided to just nix the whole thing and go for the sippy cup (especially since Lisa sent two home with us as a party favor from Colby's birthday last Sunday.) Today I gave it to him with a little bit of bottled water and the first few minutes he gummed the spout and then he started sucking and sucking and he seemed so happy with his sippy. He even took it away to hold it himself! How much "learn'in" can one baby do in a day?
In other paci news after reading this, I am going to try the paci ban! Hey, it is worth a try! If I'm not strong enough I can always give in and give the paci back. I would love to go through a night without having to get up to stick that little paci in his mouth! Lori was here tonight to witness how much he wakes up just because his paci fell out. It would be different if he could stick it back in himself but I don't think I can wait for that. The taste of sleep for hours at a time that I got when he started to going to bed at 8 is just too strong.
