I "turned in" for my assignment to describe of my perfect day. This assignment was a lot more challenging then I thought it would be. It was so hard to pick one thing that I wanted to do as my dream job. Some of my top choices were photographer, writer, personal shopper, work at one of those super studio/dream dinners places, something in the tourism industry, product tester, or restaurant reviewer.
After several days of not being able to pin down the dream job that I wanted to visualize I finally came up with something that I totally created from scratch in a way. Sunday morning, I was driving to church by myself. I turned off the radio and just started thinking of things I enjoyed and each of the careers that I thought sounded fun. When I started thinking about personal shopping I kept thinking about how much fun that would be. I seriously love picking out gifts for other people! I've even convinced my parents a few times to give me money and let me pick up Christmas gifts for other family members from them.
While I was on this train of thought I also remembered a conversation from Friday with my friend Shannon when she came into town this weekend. Her Mom was saying that she can't believe I'm a stay-at-home mom because she just knew when I was little I would grow up and be a journalist or some other kind of professional writer. She also said that I used to make her the sweetest cards (I don't remember) and how talented I was at them. Then Shannon started telling her mom about how two years ago I sent her this really sweet packet of spa treats on Valentine's day for her to pamper herself because her husband was in Iraq and how much that had meant to her.
Thinking about all this gave me an idea for a business called "Out of the Blue" where I do personal shopping and cards to create thoughtful gifts for other people. For now it is just an idea that I played around for this assignment but it was fun just dreaming about what life would be like if my ideal day was a reality.

This is a great idea! And I love the name "Out of the Blue"! I would hire you! I never know what to get my Grandma. Old people are so hard to buy for! So are teenage boys that already have everything.
