Gregory Park

Today we had our playgroup at Gregory Park. We were pleasantly surprised to see that a new playground had been installed. Some of the equipment I had never seen in any playground before. They had these crazy seats that you sat on and they start spinning you around faster and faster. Lucas loved them and I loved how funny he walked after spinning for a while.
I keep forgetting to put sunscreen on myself but luckily always remember to put it on Lucas. He actually likes to reapply after I am finished.

We took a break from the playground for a while and walked over to the Veteran's Memorial right next to the park. I pointed out Lucas' Grandpa's name to him and he leaned down and touched it and said "papa!"

Pumpkin Painting

Since we were already at Gregory Park:
Lucas' finished pumpkin.

It sat it on the window to dry but somehow it managed to get wet and end up rotting his pumpkin in a short amount of time so it had to be thrown away. Good thing he could care less. Maybe we'll have to make another trek to the pumpkin patch.

Busy Saturday

I started out my day at 7 AM going to a garage sale and leaving my guys at home sleeping. The way the sale was advertised I thought it was going to be GIANT but it wasn't. I still got a small handful of summer clothes for Lucas.

Around lunch time, we all headed to my parents' house so that Curt could help Tony fix a busted out window in his car. Lucas climbed right in the backseat so he could watch his Daddy work.

We ended up dropping Curt off at his Grandpa's house and made plans to meet Katie so we could ride together to finally go to 606. Since we were already in town we decided to meet her at Goody's and Lucas and I looked in the store while we waited for her. I tried on a few shirts while we waited for her and as soon as I undressed Lucas ran out of the dressing room (under the door) and I had to get dressed REALLY QUICKLY so I could chase him down. He of course thought it was hilarious.

The family room at 606 is great. There are tons of toys and Lucas had fun playing while we ate. The food tasted just like it did 5 years ago. I would be there all the time if they were closer and not in Richmond Hill (and if we had the money to go out to eat all of the time.)
On the way home we stopped by Gregory park which is just across the street from 606.

If it wasn't for Lucas I might not have a social Life

Lucas has gone to more parties in the last 14 months then I have in the last 14 years. Today we went to J.F. Gregory Park for Lukas' 1st Birthday Party. The weather was perfect and we had a blast.
We had a nice picnic lunch on blankets on the ground. There were plenty of picnic tables around but I knew Lucas would never stay still and eat at one so luckily I had a blanket in the car.

Lucas was so happy to see Katie . He remembered her from all the fun they had at the library on Thursday.
Lucas is not a party hat fan. He ended up pulling on the hat so hard that the elastic string broke and popped him on the cheek. OUCH!
After a few small bites of cake Lucas started rubbing his eyes because he was tired. He ended up looking like he had gotten into a big fight.
Right before we left we checked out the Veterans Monument. Lucas got a kick out of seeing his Grandpa's name.

When we got home we checked the mail and there was an invitation for Lucas for another birthday party. It is so cool to watch Lucas grow up but it is also nice to celebrate the birthdays of his little friends. I'm going to be sad when Lucas is old enough to go to the birthday parties where he gets dropped off and we don't get to stay.
