Dear Lucas (71 Weeks),

I honestly do not think that I have ever laughed as much in my entire life as I have in these last 71 weeks. You just bring so much joy to me and your father. You are such a little ham. You are always doing things that you know will make us laugh. Speaking of laughs, you have the greatest one I have ever heard. You have a big smile on your face most of the day and because of that so do we.
Today was the first morning where it was cold enough outside that you needed to wear a coat. Last year you were just a little baby and we just wrapped blankets around you in your car seat. Now that you are walking you will walk out to the car with me instead of having me carry you. This morning I just couldn't get over how grown up you look. It doesn't seem possible that just last year you were a little baby that just stayed in one place.
You are officially a full time walker. I can't even remember the last time I saw you crawl. Now everywhere you go you are full speed ahead. This afternoon after watching your Great Grandma all day I took you outside to let you play for a while. You used to love to climb up the slide but today you just weren't that into it because you wanted to be walking around on your feet not crawling on your hands and knees.
I ended up setting you in the top of the slide since you weren't really into climbing up it. You saw me through one of the holes and quickly started to play peek-a-boo with me. Pretty soon we were both laughing hysterically.
Pretty soon you got tired to standing still in one place and you went head first down the slide with no fear. Now that I think about it there isn't a single thing that I know you are scared of which is a little scary to me. You even laugh when we sneak up on you and say "boo!" After you came down the slide you headed straight for your Grandparents' pool. I just know if I hadn't been right there to grab you then you would have gone straight in the cold water.
Even when it comes to eating you seem to have this "go big or go home" philosophy. I am still amazed that you haven't choked on anything with the way you just stuff your mouth full of food. You don't chew and swallow. You stuff food in your mouth and cheeks like a chipmunk and then eventually chew and swallow. Every once in a while you will pull food out of your mouth that I thought you ate fifteen minutes ago. I guess it is just one of the many ways you keep us on our toes.
Bugga, I love you to the moon and back!
Mama

OMIGOSH! He has changed so much since last year, I can hardly believe it! Seems like the only thing that is the same is those gorgeous big blue eyes and that mischeivious smile. I love your weekly letters!
