From Massachusetts With Love

Before I headed home from Candi's wedding I got a chance to visit Curt's sisters and their families in Massachusetts. Angela's family moved there about two years ago and Sam went up there about two weeks ago.

So Blessed Part II

We just got the third (and should be last) medical bill. This one is from the anesthesiologist. Normally opening another large bill would have been a major cause of worry and stress. It was such an overwhelmingly amazing feeling to open that bill and know that it is pretty much taken care of already. We are just so thankful for everything and to everyone that has come to our aide without us even asking.

We are so Blessed

I have been staring at this blank computer screen for what seems like forever trying to form the right words to explain the incredible surprise benefit that was thrown on our behalf last night.... to try and express just how thankful and touched we are to have THE MOST amazing friends and family in the entire world.

Because of their generosity Curt's urology bill has been completely wiped out and we'll be able to cover the initial Doctor bills before his surgery and all of Curt's medications. There is a huge sense of relief to not have to worry any more about medical bills. More than anything though we are most grateful for the love and friendship. It was so amazing to walk into this room filled with people who care about us so much.

Yesterday we celebrated Christmas at Curt's Dad and Step-mom's house. Curt got almost everyone together for a family picture. Unfortunately, Curt's brothers Michael and Justin are missing.

Another post in which I complain (and yes we are STILL sick)

This afternoon I heard Jadie barking at the door and knew that meant the office must have put a new letter on our front door. Those are always fun! I opened it up and it was a water bill for almost $60!!!

Where we live a certain amount of water is included in our lot rent. When we first moved here there was not a limit on the amount of water you could use before they started charging you for going over. For every 1,000 gallons over $5,000 they charge $5. Starting in 2008 they doubled the over use fee to $10 for every 1,000 gallons over 5,000. We rarely if ever go over our water so I was VERY surprised to see this big of a bill.

When I looked closer it the bill it said it was for November-February. They are supposed to bill every month so I'm not sure what is going on. The office makes ALL KINDS of mistakes all the time. Twice in a row we have gotten notices that they were going to take us to court because we hadn't paid our rent (When we had paid and ON TIME and they just forgot to write it down) and a few times we have been sent other people's bills. I always end up having to go down to the office and getting everything straightened out.

Well, when I go up to the office to find out what was going on the normal woman that works there wasn't there. When I asked the guy that was filling in for her to help me he could barely understand what I was saying because he barely spoke any English! He told me that the lady might be back on Thursday, or Friday and then added "I hope!"'

Now I understand I live in a mostly Hispanic neighborhood and more power to the office for hiring someone who can help the Spanish speaking residents to communicate with the office but COME ON! Don't get me wrong. I am not anti-immigrant. I know people don't move to the US and instantly know how to speak English. However, I expect to be able to go to the office of where I live and be able to talk to the employees in ENGLISH!!!

Seacoast Children's Christmas Program

Today was the children's Christmas program at our church. The nursery dressed up as the nativity and Lucas was Joesph. I made his costume by cutting a slit in the middle of an old towel and putting it over his head tunic style and then tying a belt around the waist. An old Eeyore toy was his donkey.

The older kids sang a few Christmas songs. Our niece Kaliegh is the second from the left in the front row.

The little kids came in on Silent night. Lucas' cousin (Kaliegh's little sister) is the one in the white shirt next to Lucas.

The last song was Jingle Bells and the little kids got little bells to jingle along with the big kids.

When Lucas noticed a microphone just about his size he abandoned his wife and child and made a beeline for the microphone were he proceeded to pick his nose and watch the big kids sing.

Lucas with his Daddy. Today was Curt's first time going to church with us. Lucas loved having his Daddy there and it was such a nice treat for me too.
