Sitting, Waiting, Wishing

Today we put our very first offer on our very first house. Now all we have to do is sit back and wait. When we signed the offer today we took Lucas to see the the house for the first time. His favorite part of the whole house is outside in the fenced in backyard. We're trying to get our hopes up because we know there is a chance that the offer won't be accepted and that in the end we can't agree on the terms of the house. We're trying to not be too optimistic just in case but we REALLY LOVE THIS HOUSE. The seller is out of the office until Wednesday so we won't even know anything for a couple days.

Right after signing the offer on the house I got a phone call about a photography job I applied for a few weeks ago. I passed the phone interview and now I go onto the in person interview. I go Thursday morning and I am so excited. I have a really good feeling about this too. I'm so excited with all the new possibilities but at the same time I'm trying to restrain myself. I am so used to being thrown curve balls this past year that it's like I am just waiting for the bottom to drop out of everything. Could things really be going this awesome for us? I guess all we can do is hurry up and wait and see how this all plays out.

Guess I Really am the Mamarazzi

On the way home from running errands Lucas asked if we could stop at our neighborhood park. Since we've spent a lot of time sick at home this past week I decided to stop so he could get out some energy. The following conversation happened while Lucas was swinging.

"You look like you are having fun!"

"Cheese! Mama, where your camera?"

"I don't have it, it's at home."

"No, its in the car. You left it in the car mama?"

"No, I don't have my camera. I left it at home since we were just running errands."

Giving me a confused look, "Mama you NEED your camera!"

Our 3rd Day in Pictures

Every April 20th since Lucas has been born we have done a photo diary for the day. We did our third annual diary yesterday and if you would like to see it all you have to do is go here and click on view slide show. Confession

I haven't really printed out pictures of Lucas since November....... of 2005! Well, to be honest I didn't even make it through that month of November either. I am also a horrible baby book filler-outer. Thank goodness for the world wide web or poor Lucas might think his Mommy didn't even care about remembering his baby years. So since we have all these empty albums I finally decided I would make myself go through the millions of pictures on the computer and get them printed out and properly put into photo albums.

I pulled out the two albums of pictures I have from Lucas first few months and I realized that babies are quite boring. All they do is lay there in their little outfits and look cute. In the beginning I printed out almost EVERY single picture I took. Now that I am a mother of a toddler I am being a little more selective of the baby pictures I am printing out. We better not have anymore kids because I don't think we have room for all the pictures I take of Lucas.

Eclipsed

I went out last night to try and take a couple pictures of the eclipse. I didn't feel well enough to search for my tripod and set it up so this is the best photo I got while trying to hold my camera still.

With night photography you REALLY REALLY need a tripod though because the shutter time needs to be slower to collect more light and even the movement from your breathing will shake the camera.... and obviously even much more so if you cough.

Every once in a while I remember to upload pictures from Lucas camera and I am always surprised that he has been snapping away without us noticing. So far it seems his favorite thing to photograph is he feet.

I've been REALLY REALLY REALLY good this year and all I want is one "little" thing. Hey a girl can dream right?!?!

Look What I can do

My Christmas/Birthday present (that I ordered) arrived today and I LOVE it! I can't wait to start some serious picture taking. The best part is that I can finally take videos with sound!!! Don't get too excited though since after this first video you might not return to watch anymore videos posted by me.

P.S. Today starts my 20th week working out. I really haven't been able to go as much as I would have liked the past few weeks (sometimes only once a week) but now that the New Year has started I am ready to get serious again. The only bad thing is I have lost my workout buddy since Katie moved across town a few weeks ago.

Inspiration

When I took photography in College one of our first assignments was to develop a "Personal Vision," something we would focus on and shoot during the semester. I sat down and tried to brain storm but couldn't settle on anything that I wanted to spend time, energy, and money on shooting. Finally, I stopped over analyzing and went out and shot pictures of things that struck me in some way. When I looked at my contact sheets I realized that I was finding my inspiration in abandoned things.
